Background
Our client is an investment and asset management company with € 10 billion in assets under management from private individuals and institutional clients in the Benelux. Their philosophy revolves around long term investment and risk-return management with highly personalized investment approach and customer relationship management. Their commitment and direct communication enables trust, provides insight and serves their client’s best interests on a long-term basis.
Challenge
As part of their strategy to better protect and manage portfolios, they asked Keyrus to accompany them in the project governance, the requirements fit-gap analysis and the development of a new core application for their operations. A modern take over their previous application that was very time-consuming: often leading to input errors, nested with bugs and lacking in terms of performance and user-friendliness. The real challenge was the choice of a technology fitting the needs of our client, as well as our ability to deliver operational and visual bits of the application within agreed timeframes.
Approach
- The old software was studied to reveal the needs and requirements of the new application - After careful consideration, a proof-of-concept was developed in Flutter, Google’s cross-platform framework (open source UI software development kit) - The application was progressively created in a fully agile environment, displaying the disruptive nature of this technology on the market - The app viewer was built with instructions sent by the server: this groundbreaking approach to development was made possible by Flutter, allowing to dynamically render the screens and easily shape the massive amount of data handled by our client’s requests.
