One of the world's leading digital payments companies, comprised of 560 people from 30 nationalities working in London headquarters and offices throughout Europe and the USA, required an independent audit of their existing data and analytical solution and corresponding development practices which were failing to deliver outcomes required by core business teams including finance, operations and marketing.
Keyrus performed a 4-week assessment including interviews of C-level, selected business and IT representatives, interviews with development team, assessment of existing solution, delivering detailed gap analysis, actionable roadmap & presentation of recommendations. Major founding indicated that main issues were not technology related, but rooted in the way initiative was organized and executed, the way data and analytics was governed and managed. • Lack of formalized and followed governance allowing proper Business and IT alignment during the project • Insufficient business focus and involvement of business teams throughout the delivery • Belief that simply giving access to all operational data is the answer • Wrong application of agile delivery methodology: no single empowered product owner onboard, messy product backlog, lack of focus during sprints, lack of adoption to handle complexities of data and analytics • Solution design not to best practices and non-optimized data architecture – • Finally lack of data and analytics strategy and vision: no data and analytics roadmap aligned to the organization’s business objectives, no formalised organization and governance, key processes not in place. • High ambitions in terms of analytics and empowerment of certain business areas were not supported by the overall organization’s maturity to deliver data and AI capabilities & adoption.
Keyrus performed the following activities: • A 360 degree assessment of their current data and analytical solution, organization and processes in place • A blended Keyrus-Client team was formed to rebuild and extend their data platform functionalities • Initial roadmap in defining AI use cases
