Our client, with 40 offices in Belgium and +750 employees, is a social secretary company that offers a wide variety of services to its customers, focusing on HR administration and providing solutions that promote the wellbeing of employees.

Challenge

Dealing with unforeseen absenteeism is an issue for every company and has a significant impact, both on financial and social level. In an incredibly competitive market, our client was looking to create a new and innovative service offering. They aimed at providing a service to their customers that could reduce the number of sick leaves through gaining a better understanding of the people and providing pragmatic advise based on facts rather than on intuition.

Approach

Create employee profiles by integrating all available information. Build models to predict a profile’s category. Use the Bradford factor to categorize the impact of a person sick leave on the company. Balance overfitting and generalization to ensure robust and successful models. Offer the insight generated by the models as an Analytics-as-a-Service product.
