Due to new legislation in Canada, a regional health association was required to produce a new report based on payroll and benefits data to send monthly to the government. They engaged Keyrus to analyze the requirements and propose different automated solutions. After two weeks of discovery, Keyrus offered three different solutions, and the client chose the Python Azure Function solution.
The client had no way of automating an extremely cumbersome reporting process, newly legislated by the Canadian Government. Since this organization had no prior expertise in cloud development or Python programming, it was important to establish a trusting relationship with them to implement the solution successfully. As their chosen SI partner, we relied on their IT team to provide us with access to the Azure platform and grant us certain privileges. Knowing they lacked experience in this area, we helped guide them through the process.
After two weeks of discovery, Keyrus offered three different solutions, and the client chose the Python Azure Function solution. Over three weeks, Keyrus implemented the solution on their Azure platform, incorporating features such as error handling, automatic input testing, and warning messages. This client and Keyrus signed a support agreement to maintain the solution and assist them in running it.
Efficiency and Time Savings: The automated solution drastically reduced the time required to generate and submit reports. The manual process that took up to 48 hours was reduced to just 2 hours, freeing up valuable resources for other critical tasks. Error Reduction and Compliance: The implementation of error handling, automatic input testing, and warning messages ensured that reports were generated accurately and in compliance with the new legislation. This resulted in a 99% accuracy rate, minimizing the risk of non-compliance and associated penalties. Enhanced Trust and Collaboration: Establishing a trusting relationship with the client's IT team was crucial, especially given their limited experience with cloud development and Python programming. By guiding them through the process, Keyrus not only ensured the successful implementation of the solution but also empowered their team, leading to stronger collaboration and a foundation for future projects. Scalability and Future Projects: The success of this project led to new opportunities, as evidenced by the client's request for a similar solution for a different use case (Pension & LTD Remittance), which started in July 2024. This demonstrates the scalability and adaptability of the implemented solution, paving the way for continued partnership and growth.
