Our client is the distribution network operator responsible for the 19 communes of the Brussels Capital region. The main tasks of our client include: (1) the maintenance and long-term development of the distribution network, (2) reading electricity meters and (3) validation and administration of consumption data.
To enable fact-based decision making, our client launched a project to develop a new data warehouse and flexible reporting to meet recurring and ad-hoc business requests. The project is split into different parts (called work packages) focused on specific domains/departments like Purchasing, Finance, Logistics, etc. The biggest challenge is to find the right competences and ensure continuity of services.
Establish a managed service approach and agree modus operandi. Migrate of the old data warehouse to a modern appliance to guarantee performance and consistency. Implement the different work packages based on a maturity heatmap treating the quick wins first, followed by the most business added value packages. Train the End Users on the self-service reporting tool and provide fast and effective support on issues and Change Requests.
The client can focus on its core activities but is now supported by a Data Intelligence environment that delivers new insights in different aspects of the business, allowing them to take fact-based decisions, reduce costs and enhance the customer service.
