How Keyrus Optimised Energy Data Management and Cut Costs

Background

The energy sector is experiencing rapid growth in data volumes driven by expanding operations, new regulatory demands, and evolving customer expectations. For one of France’s leading alternative energy providers, this surge in data made their existing decision-making system outdated, costly to maintain, and too slow to support the business. They needed a modern, scalable solution that could keep pace with their growth and deliver faster, more reliable insights.

Challenge

The client was struggling with an outdated information system and fragmented data management processes that could no longer handle the growing volume and complexity of their energy data. These limitations slowed decision-making, increased costs, and made it difficult to scale. They turned to Keyrus to help them: Optimise their existing infrastructure to reduce operational and storage costs. Migrate to a high-performance, cost-efficient cloud environment. Modernise and streamline data management, including the data model and ETL processes. Bring together their DWH, BI, Data Lake, and Data Science environments to create stronger cross-functional synergies Embed a data-centric approach to accelerate digital transformation across the business

Approach

Keyrus began by deploying a Snowflake platform to unify the client’s fragmented data environments and create a single, scalable foundation for analytics. The team then redesigned the data model to strengthen information quality and reliability, ensuring that insights could be trusted across the organisation. A robust and future-proof technical architecture was implemented, followed by the migration of all data integration processes to modern cloud solutions that deliver higher performance at a lower cost. Alongside the technical work, Keyrus supported business teams through training and awareness initiatives, helping them adopt new data tools and accelerating the company’s wider digital transformation.
