They actively oversee staffing and site operations including hiring, training, and managing security professionals for warehouses and businesses across the country. To monitor staff and facilities, our client uses several systems to track security guard attendance, scheduling, and geolocation to ensure that customer needs are always met.
To deliver on their promise of keeping facilities safe while proving ROI, our client needs visibility into key metrics to act quickly when issues arise. They need quick answers to big questions so that they can act promptly to resolve immediate issues and prove value to their customers in the long term. These questions might include:
Are staff members late or absent?
Are there unconfirmed shifts on the schedule?
Are staff members reaching geolocation checkpoints at the appropriate times?
Prior to the analytics initiative, our client was manually extracting data from multiple sources, which meant they were losing valuable time while posts remained unstaffed. Being able to effectively manage security guards at locations across the country requires near-real-time updates. Data was slow to update and slow to process, so site managers and analysts couldn’t get the information they needed when they needed it.
Because data existed in several different systems, there was no centralized place to get a clear big picture status update. Furthermore, process inefficiencies and inconsistent data sources sometimes resulted in inaccurate conclusions or confusion across departments.
Keyrus partnered with the client to ramp up their reporting capabilities and create dashboards that would empower their analysts to work more accurately and efficiently. We extracted data from several sources, processed that data, and presented it on clean modern dashboards that are easy to use and automatically updated.
As a 2021 Premier Talend Partner and an Advanced Tier Partner of AWS, we used our expertise to combine the two technologies to build a lean end-to-end data warehouse solution in the cloud. Both AWS and Talend were chosen with availability and scalability in mind.
Talend provides a high level of flexibility that allows us to scale up with minimal code changes or maintenance. AWS can also be scaled up easily, giving us the capability to process a higher volume of data with just a few clicks of a button.
We also utilized advanced mapping and coordination functionality in Tableau to create easy to use dashboards that give a near-real-time birdseye view of GPS activity at each site. This information updates every five minutes to keep analysts informed and ready to act when needed.
