Background

Our client is one of the world's largest and most influential alternative asset managers. Founded in 1990 and headquartered in America, the firm has evolved from a specialist in distressed debt into a diversified global powerhouse. With over $800 billion in assets, this client frequently pursues the latest in cutting-edge technology to continually be a leader in how asset management firms operate.

Challenge

Our client’s growth strategy relies heavily on the rapid acquisition and integration of new companies. However, this aggressive expansion was hampered by a rigid and cumbersome data onboarding process that took over a month to complete for each new entity. This delay created a significant "visibility gap," where executive leadership remained in the dark regarding the real-time health and performance of newly acquired assets during the most critical stages of integration. The lack of standardized data mapping meant that every acquisition required a manual, ground-up rebuild of data models, leading to fragmented reporting and inconsistent KPIs.

Approach

Keyrus met with business to understand what datasets are common amongst the companies, and what metrics / KPIs were important to the client. The goal was to create the most efficient process for a newly acquired company to have their data onboarded into our clients database, and in a spot where it could quickly be consumed. This resulted in the identification and classification of expected data; three data models that organzied, cleaned, and output metrics identified as critical for the business; and three dashboards that allowed users to review the health of the company's metrics within one week of onboarding.
