We, in Keyrus South Africa had decided to make a ‘virtual’ effort to connect with some of our Keyrus family in Paris, the company’s global headquarters. We covered the distance from Durban to Paris to raise funds for a cause that is very close to our teams’ hearts: providing opportunities for education and life-skills mentorship to individuals here in South Africa whose start in life has not been that fortunate. We want to provide choices to young scholars who have the potential to lead and change this world.
As a group of educated professionals we strongly believe in the power of education. We believe in the importance of equal opportunities. We believe that making a difference to an individual will have a positive ripple effect on their family, their community, and eventually on our nation.
That’s why we partnered with the Amathuba Foundation. The Amathuba Foundation facilitates high school opportunities for disadvantaged learners at schools in South Africa. They help learners to reach their dreams, through customized funding and personal mentorship. They do this in partnership with their loyal patrons, the Amathuba Mentors, the partner schools, and the learners’ parents/guardians.
Amathuba believes in the power of opportunity. Their model is designed to provide what a disadvantaged learner needs in a new life environment, in order to thrive. Relationships, support, and accountability are at the heart of what has made this Foundation successful.
